As mentioned in my original post, I've tried installing the "fullfile" that was downloaded from Microsoft, and it also fails to install. Perhaps they need to do a better job of testing their updates, because I've found other people with the same problem, and it only seems to apply to this update. All others install just fine. Friday, October 18, AM. Did anybody have a solution for this problem? I'm facing the same problem as crhosu and I think it's because we don't install the Sharepoint Workspace component.
Why don't they do the same for SP2? Wednesday, November 20, AM. That's interesting. We don't install Sharepoint Workspace either. Our initial install included SP1, so we didn't run into this problem previously. Hopefully someone from Microsoft will see this and figure out the problem.
Wednesday, November 20, PM. I ran "repair" from the control panel. The installation then succeeded. Friday, May 9, AM. All other Microsoft updates install just fine, and I didn't do anything incorrectly when installing Office It's ridiculous that Microsoft can't put together a proper patch for enterprise customers.
